base e was formed by Peter Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin is an expert in air & gas compression technologies, as well as all aspects of their commercialization. He is also an expert in gas turbine, Stirling engine, and fuel cell technologies, their development and strategic positioning in utility and on-site distributed power applications. 

Mr. Baldwin previously worked for Ingersoll-Rand Company in a variety of positions, including as President of its subsidiary Northern Research and Engineering Corporation (NREC), where he was responsible for developing the company's microturbine program, including its market strategy product placement and capitalization. Prior to joining NREC, he was Vice President, Sales and Service North America, for Ingersoll-Rand's Air Compressor Group. He has held a variety of executive level positions with Ingersoll-Rand and has gained international experience with positions in London, England and Milan, Italy during his 33 years with the company.
